Julie Grower
Library and Licensing Coordinator

Julie Grower is the Library and Licensing Coordinator for the Barbershop Harmony Society. She coordinates operations of Old Songs Library music, Published and Unpublished Arrangement Library, recordings, symphony scores, database managements and music licensing operations. Julie Grower brings to the Barbershop Harmony Society a wealth of experience; having served as Senior Coordinator of Music and Media Licensing at Viacom/MTV Networks for eight years. During her tenure with Viacom, she worked on music, clip, and photo clearances for a variety of live and pre-produced music specials and artist biographies. Including the “Crossroads” and “Inside Fame” series for CMT. Grower has also worked in the publishing and cable industries in the areas of business affairs and marketing. She started her music industry career in recording studio settings as a music and sound effects librarian and editor and sales executive. Grower’s first love is singing; and she has participated in various vocal ensembles, including a female a cappella group called “Woven Tones”; and has sung professionally in studio and live settings, specializing in harmony. Grower earned a Bachelor of Science in Music and Media Arts at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Her studies included voice, music theory, ethnomusicology and mass communications.
