Katie Gillon began working for the Barbershop Harmony Society in July of 2007. A native of Nashville, she has extensive contacts and experience with both non-profits and the music industry. Katie started the Gillon Group, an entertainment consulting company in early 2003. Katie has been the Executive Project Coordinator for the Country Music Retirement Community, a multi-million dollar non-profit project. From 1987 to 2002 she worked her way up the ladder at MCA Records in Nashville to the position of Senior Vice President of Creative Services. As Creative Director, she conceptualized and developed imaging for all artists on the MCA Nashville roster. Prior to joining the MCA family she worked for Dot Records/ABC Records. Her Bachelor of Science Secondary Education was from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala. She is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. She served two terms as President of the NARAS local Chapter Board of Directors and eight years as a Trustee on the NARAS National Board of Trustees. She served two terms as President of non-profit Leadership Music Board of Directors and eight years on the boards of Leadership Music Alumni and Leadership Nashville Alumni. Other board service includes the Ear Foundation and Chely Wright’s non-profit Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation. Katie raises $100,000 annually for this Foundation.
